Pickering Group Ltd is a multinational group of electronics manufacturers headquartered in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, in the UK, with operations worldwide.
The Group comprises three companies which first started in 1968 with Pickering Electronics, which manufactures electronic components called reed relays used in various forms of electronic instrumentation. In 1988 Pickering Interfaces was formed, offering modular signal switching and simulation systems and software for use in electronics testing. In 2005, we opened a facility in the Czech Republic manufacturing cable and connector solutions. This led to establishing our connectivity division in 2014, Pickering Connect, offering standard and custom connectivity solutions. Please take a look at our history here to learn more.
All three companies invest heavily in new products and have a reputation for producing high-quality products for the test and measurement industry, which focuses on producing equipment designed to identify, measure and regulate manufacturing processes. This market sees considerable growth due to the rate of new technology, global regulation, and the growing complexity of electronic products.
We employ over 500 people across three manufacturing facilities, one in the UK and two in the Czech Republic and nine direct sales/support offices throughout Asia, Europe, and North America.
I have worked at Pickering Interfaces for almost 3 years as a test technician, I love being part of the Pickering family. Since I joined I’ve been given the most amazing support, including supporting me through finishing my HNC & NVQ qualifications, alongside working full time. This was something that I had already started before joining the company and was important to me that I completed. Pickering allowed me to do a day release to continue my studies and funded the remaining amount of my education whilst providing me a full-time wage for working 4 days a week for 8 months. The support all the way through was second to none. Since then I have been given numerous opportunities, being put on projects aside from my day-to-day duties to continue to progress and be a part of exciting new developments within the business.

I have worked at Pickering for 21 years and I am very grateful for the support, care and generosity that has been given to me. I was at the co-op for 10 years before coming here and it was the best decision I ever made, I could not be happier. Pickering is a company like no other, very accommodating, nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel appreciated, I look forward to another 21 years!
Production Operative, Pickering Electronics UK
I joined Pickering in 2013 and have never been disappointed in that decision. Being a family-owned company, they are all about taking care of their employees and putting family first.
The company has grown quite a bit since I joined and I don't see it slowing down. And even with that growth, the dedication to their employees hasn't changed. Always willing to listen to your ideas and let you develop your career with training and education.
I would recommend working here to anyone looking for a positive work environment, great management and a place where you can bring your ideas to life.
Marketing Communications Manager, Pickering Interfaces USA
When I began working for Pickering in 2005 on a temporary part-time contract, I was a single mother with two children under 5. As a result of the family-friendly policies, I was soon able to take up a full-time management role with the company. Being fully supported and having flexibility around my family commitments, I was able to progress within the company, and am still here 16 years later heading up the IT systems for the whole Pickering Group.
Group Chief Information Officer, Pickering Group UK
I joined Pickering in 1987 working in production. Right from the go, everyone was very friendly. Over the next few years, I continued my training in most of the departments in production and later I was asked if I would be interested in progressing to an office position. In 2006 I was promoted to Purchasing Manager and then later to Supply Chain Manager.
Pickering is a very successful company, with a good reputation as an employer. Personally, Pickering has supported me throughout my career, the company has grown significantly but has still kept its family values, that is important to me.
Supply Chain Manager, Pickering Electronics UK
I began working at Pickering in 2014 as a technician after completing my Level 3 City & Guilds in Electronics. I have received generous support from Pickering over the last 7 years with full training and the opportunity to progress within the company. Whilst working full time I was also given the support that allowed me to complete my HNC & HND qualifications. I have now progressed from technician to technical engineer and become a core member of the design and development team working on all matters relating to the function of new or existing products.
