ROLE PURPOSE
The Inside Sales Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the sales for the UK and Ireland for both Pickering Interfaces and Electronics by providing technical guidance, product selection assistance, and exceptional customer support. This role combines technical expertise with sales acumen to foster customer relationships, drive sales growth, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Support
Respond promptly to inbound inquiries, qualify leads, and identify customer needs.
Collaborate with the external sales team to develop and present tailored solutions.
Generate and follow up on quotes, ensuring competitive pricing and delivery timelines.
Support the development of proposals, tenders, and RFQs with technical and commercial accuracy.
Technical Expertise
Understand and articulate the features and benefits of Pickering Interfaces and Electronics products.
Assist customers with product selection and configuration based on their application requirements.
Work with engineering teams to address complex technical questions or custom solution requests.
Customer Relationship Management
Maintain regular communication with customers to build trust and ensure satisfaction.
Use CRM tools to track and manage leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.
Collaboration and Training
Partner with marketing to support campaigns, webinars, and other promotional activities.
Attend training sessions to stay updated on sales skills development and industry trends.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or related field preferred, such as computer science or Physics) or equivalent technical experience.
Proven experience in sales, technical support, or engineering roles.
Skills and Competencies
Ability to understand technical problems and apply electronics-based solutions.
Understanding of test and measurement systems, signal switching, or simulation products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Team player with a proactive and customer-focused attitude.
