What You Can Expect as an SMT Operator:

The core responsibilities of the SMT Operator are the day-to-day running of all machinery within a fast-paced Surface Mount Department working on two production lines and all other peripheral equipment often working to very tight time scales. Producing a large range of mixed technology printed multilayer & double-sided circuit PCBA’s used in the test and measurement industry, The Department supports the demands of the Two Production departments as well as NPI (New Product Introduction) R&D (Research and Development) and NTG (New Technologies) departments.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Operating the following equipment within a SMT environment including:

1. Screen printers
2. Pick and Place machines
3. AOI
4. Vapor phase oven
5. X-ray
6. Rework and repair stations

• Perform quality control final inspection checks to ensure products meet company standards.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area and adhere to health and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• All training will be given on site by SMT technician and SMT Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

• IPC610 & J-standard.

 Experience: 

• Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.

Key Skills: 

• Good level of literacy and numeracy.
• A good level of manual dexterity.
• Working well as part of a team.
• The willingness and ability to learn new skills and processes.
• Good level of attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills required.
