Electronics Test Engineer

The Pickering Group Ltd is a multinational group of electronics manufacturers headquartered in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, UK, with worldwide operations. The Group comprises three companies: Pickering Electronics, which manufactures reed relays; Pickering Interfaces, which produces switching systems; and Pickering Connect, which supplies supporting cables and connectors. What You Can Expect as an Electronics Test Engineer at Pickering:

The Electronics Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring all new products meet the required specifications before they are commercially released. This will involve running a series of tests and measurements on all new modules to be added to the product range, whilst managing multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In depth testing of new and legacy products to the highest standard.
  • Solving complex problems using your own initiative.
  • Create C++ software applications for engineering and production test.

Required Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND in electronic engineering
  • Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in electronics testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in a related discipline (desirable but not essential)
  • HNC/HND in electronic engineering

Key Skills:

  • Hands on experience in analog and digital electronics, including schematics, signal processing, and debugging. 
  • Proficiency in programming with C++ (or similar), particularly for automated test systems, although training will be given.
  •  Familiarity with testing tools and equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, and logic analysers.
