The 40-205-004 (PXI) and 42-205-004 (PXIe) are 4-channel fault insertion switches designed to simulate faults on high-speed two-wire interfaces, including 10GBase-T1 Ethernet. They support open circuits, shorts, and connections to external signals via fault buses. Utilizing MEMS technology, these modules deliver low insertion loss, RF performance exceeding 8 GHz, and an operational life of over 3 billion cycles.

  • High-Speed Interface Compatibility: Suited for fault insertion on single twisted pair Ethernet, compatible with standards up to 10GBase-T1.
  • Advanced MEMS Switching: Utilizes MEMS technology for fast operating times, high reliability with over 3 billion cycles, and excellent RF performance.
  • Versatile Fault Simulation: Enables simple insertion of shorted pairs, open circuits, and connections to external battery or ground signals.
  • Controlled Signal Integrity: Features a controlled transmission line impedance and careful design to minimize the injection of noise and unwanted signals.
  • Platform Flexibility: Available in both PXI and PXIe formats, supported by PXI, PXIe or LXI/USB chassis, and supplied with drivers for Windows and Linux.
