The chassis has a high-performance 21-slot PXIe backplane and accepts PXIe (PXI Express) or standard PXI hybrid-compatible modules in all hybrid peripheral slots for application flexibility. The Gen2 chassis offers high data bandwidth, with up to 8 GB/s system and 2 GB/s slot-to-slot. Ultra-high performance PCIe switching is provided via the default four-link (4x4) capacity PXIe system slot. The chassis utilizes three PCI segments with a dedicated PCIe-to-PCI bridge module for the hybrid slots. The PXI-specific high-accuracy clocks and trigger signals are generated and controlled by an independent clock module attached to the rear of the backplane. 

Our innovative "Next Gen" enclosure design includes an easily removable rear fan tray and direct convection design, extending the ambient temperature range (0°C to +55°C) and providing high cooling capacity (100 W per slot up to 40°C). It also includes two slot-in modular power supplies for easy serviceability and scalability. These come with EMC class B 900W power supplies standard—upgradeable to 1800W with exceptional cooling capacity for high-power applications.

Remote monitoring of power supply voltages, internal temperatures, and cooling fan speeds is accessible via a rear panel port. The Gen 2 PCIe backplane technology offers an attractive price/performance balance compared to our ultra-high-performance Gen 3 chassis and competitors.

Due to a high peripheral slot count, the chassis accommodates a single controller slot. We recommend our PCIe to PXIe remote control interface kit (43-921) or the highest-performance single-slot PXIe controller (43-920)We also provide an integration service where we can supply a chassis fitted with our embedded controller loaded with Windows OS and necessary drivers and any of our PXI or PXIe switching and simulation modules, fully functional out of the box, for an attractive price.
