Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on an incredible 2024. Despite challenging global economic conditions, Pickering achieved stable revenue and gained market share. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our customers and partners. We are excited to continue collaborating with you as we invest in new products and enhanced support.
Here are some of my standout moments and highlights from 2024:
25 years of PXI Excellence: This year marked a quarter-century since our first PXI module launch, and we remain committed to long-term product availability, with those very modules still in production
20 years in Czechia: Our 350 employees celebrated two decades of Pickering's presence in Czechia with a memorable event at Třinec Town Hall
Expanding Horizons: We opened new offices in Penang, Malaysia, to serve the dynamic ASEAN market and expanded our resources in the U.S. with a larger sales office in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, and a Cleveland, Ohio design office, building a center of excellence for measurement and instrumentation
Vertical Integration: In October, we acquired Mumfords Engineering Ltd., a trusted UK partner in toolmaking and molding, to strengthen our capabilities further
From a product and commercial perspective, in 2024, we continued to expand our catalog and invest in the products and capabilities our customers have been asking for, including:
PXI/PXIe Dual Platform Transition: Most of our PXI modules now support both PXI and PXIe formats, ensuring long-term availability and compatibility for all applications.
Groundbreaking Microwave Tools: Our upgraded Microwave Switch Design Tool now offers unmatched simulation capabilities (insertion loss, return loss, etc.), setting a new industry standard.
Higher Voltages and Bandwidths: Our expanded switching portfolio includes solutions with voltages up to 1kV (40-42-321) to backfill our 9kV family, channel counts for complex configurations, and bandwidths up to 40GHz.
Accelerated Connectivity Solutions: With new automation in our connection division, Pickering Connect, custom cabling, and connectivity products now ship in weeks, ensuring you stay on track.
Reed Relay Innovations: Our relay division, Pickering Electronics, enhanced our core reed relay portfolio with new capabilities to meet even more demanding requirements. Our new ultra-high density 2-pole relays, series 125, deliver the industry’s smallest DPST reed relay, switching up to 1 Amp, 20 Watts on compact 5 mm2 pitch, setting a new benchmark for packing density.
