Hi there,
We are excited to let you know that we will be debuting two new switching products as well as showcasing our new signal routing software and cable design tool next week at IEEE AUTOTESTCON in Anaheim, CA. Take a look below for the information:
The new 2-Slot Modular Chassis (model 60-104) offers a small, lightweight form/factor ideal for portable, benchtop and space restrictive applications. The chassis is designed for desk or rack mounting and features remote control via USB or LXI Ethernet. Remote control over a network enables the switching function of a test system to be located as close as possible to the target equipment.
The chassis supports one or two Pickering 3U PXI modules. Possible systems include switching matrices up to 1104 crosspoints, 396 channel multiplexer or up to 36 channels of programmable resistor/sensor emulation.

The PXI Thermocouple Simulator Modules (series 41-760) are ideal for simulating the operation of a thermocouple. They are available in a choice of 8, 16, 24 or 32 channels—each channel providing a low-voltage output across two connector pins capable of providing ±20mV with 0.7µV resolution, ±50mV with 1.7µV resolution and ±100mV with 3.3µV resolution, covering most thermocouple types.
These new thermocouple simulators use two wire outputs with a remote output reference sense to ensure the modules deliver accurate low-level voltages, even if the system has common mode voltages present.

Switch Path Manager signal routing software speeds up switch system development by automatically connecting system endpoints. The software supports Pickering’s PXI, LXI, PCI and GPIB switching systems and the interconnection between them.
Within small switching system configurations, or when utilizing just single switch modules, the user typically applies device drivers with the provided API to control the relays. Simple CLOSE and OPEN commands with additional parameters like module number and channel number control the required relays. As switching systems get more complex, this seemingly simple task can get quite complicated.

This graphics-based web tool allows users to create customized cable assemblies using very detailed design characteristics including a selection of connector types, wire type, pin definitions, pin and cable labeling, cable bundling, length selection, sleeving comments and more.
The cable design tool has a built-in library of standard cable sets that can be used as the basis for customization or cables can be designed from scratch. If a user gets stuck creating a cable, all they need to do is submit the semi-completed assembly and one of Pickering’s engineers will provide guidance through the complete process. When the customized cable assembly is finished, users just need to submit it for a quote.
